Supplementary feeding and its effects on body condition of roe deer in Vitice hunting area
Švrčula, Vladislav ; Kušta, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ježek, Miloš (referee)
The theoretical part of this thesis describes roe deer in terms of ethology, biology and deals with damage caused by its occurence in forests and game managament interesting in roar deer. Research field of thesis is concerned the evaluation of feeding in Vitice (Česky Brod) area in the period 2000-2014 and influence onthe condition and body weight. For the evaluation of data gathering was used multiple linear regression, Spearman correlation coefficient and the non-parametric test Kruskal-Walisova ANOVA. Research in this area has been found that a gradual increase of the feed had an effect on body weight gain of roe deer.
Effect of supplementary feeding on the spatial activity of red deer
Kilhofová, Blanka ; Bejček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Otakar, Otakar (referee)
Military Training Area Hradiste occupies the entire central part of Doupov Mts. Restrictions on public access and unified huntsmen management of the large area gave rise to a unique habitat of red deer. There is a series of studies conducted on game populations, including research of spacial activity of red deer using GPS telemetry. Telemetry data were used to evaluate the effect of the feeding device on the spatial activity of red deer. This impact was affected in the observational period by the mild winter, yet the effect on the spatial activity is apparent. Males are much more active during feeding period than females and their relation to feeding equipment is also higher than in females.
The effect of supplementary winter feeding on the wildlife forest damages
Strnad, Martin ; Ježek, Miloš (advisor) ; Adámková, Jana (referee)
Abstract The work deals with the influence of the winter feeding on the amount of damage to forests caused by game in Šumava area farmed by the state enterprise Lesy České republiky (Forests of the Czech Republic), forest enterprise Boubín, forest district Kubova Huť. The aim was processing a literature review on the topic of harm wildlife and processing its own investigation regarding the evaluation of the development of damage to forests, depending on winter feeding and its localization. The first part is introduction to the general problems of dealing with the kind of damage caused by game, the possibilities of influencing of damage caused by game, evidence of damage caused by game, the legislative framework for the application of game damages to the user of the hunting ground and the consequences of damage caused by game. The second part is focused on the investigation of damage caused by game in selected locations. It was selected two adjacent hunting grounds in the selected area of a similar nature and properties. In the first hunting ground were selected three feeding sites and in the second hunting ground other two feeding sites. Around each location was determined by a circle with a radius of one kilometre and using a map portal comprise forests within this sector in the table. For each crop was determined actual age, the percentage of crop damage and the distance from feeding place. Data for damage based on the summaries damage to forests in Forest enterprise Boubín, forest district Kubova Huť and from 2010 to 2014. The statistical method, using the statistical software STATISTICA 10th 0., the data were evaluated and put into final tables and chapters. The basic hypothesis was based on the question of whether the damage caused by wild animals increase with bigger distance from the feeding sites. The results did not confirm this hypothesis. Conversely, the damages caused by animals increased with reduced distance from the feeding sites. Neither the size of the crop affects the amount of damage caused by game. Knowledge about the occurrence of damage caused by game depends on the distance from feeding sites may be important for better selection and number of sites for animal feeding. Key words European red deer (Cervus elaphus), feeding, harm wildlife
Růstové schopnosti kapra obecného (\kur{Cyprinus carpio}, L.) přikrmovaného obilnými krmivy
ŠKRLETA, Jan
This Bachelor's thesis evaluates effect of feeding carp's stock (Cyprinus carpio, L.) to growth and condition indicators and simultaneously evaluates planned and actual weight of the stock. Experiment ran for 160 days, in two ponds of Pístniská fish pond system, owned by Chov ryb - Josef Vaněk company. Experimet was performed by feeding test. Ponds are located in Jindřichův Hradec district and their total area is 67 ha. Stock of fish were fed wheat with no modificatin. Determined values of fish measurement are compared to normative indicators in planning stocking and fishing ponds.
Vliv přikrmování upravenými krmnými komponenty v kapřích rybnících na kvalitu vody v recipientech
HLAVÁČ, David
Minimisation of environmental impact is a key factor in insuring the long-term sustainability of the aquacultural industry. Numerous studies have examined nutritional strategies as a means of reducing waste production and minimising the environmental impact of aquacultural waste. To achieve this goal, it is the challenge to the aquacultural industry to develop "environmentally friendly" feeds, feed management and feed production methods to reduce pollution. This applies mainly to pond farming of common carp, which plays an important role in global aquaculture. The objective of this Ph.D. thesis was to evaluate the possibilities of using modified cereals in pond aquaculture. It focused on issues that contribute to a better understanding of the interconnection between fish production, feed quality and applied feeding technologies with respect to water quality, nutrient budget, quality and quantity of natural food.
Hodnocení kvality přikrmování spárkaté zvěře na základě obsahu aflatoxinů
Kohoutová, Petra
This diploma thesis deals with the problem of aflatoxin in selected organs of fallow game, roe deer and for comparation of petty game with hare. The aim was to evaluate the free and preserve breeds at a sufficient amount of samples and to assess the suitability of a feeding. There were assessed the parenchymal tissues and kidneys and liver. It evaluated 176 collected biological tissues, including 118 from free places and 58 samples from specialized preserve. After the screening method RIA complemented by gas chromatography, were evaluated concentrations of aflatoxin B1. Diferences of feeding, which were assessed on based of results of evaluation in preserves.Subsequently the problem of submitting feeds was solved, and it was made a manual for submission of a feed.
The phosphorus balance in semi-intensive rearing of carp
ŠIMÁNEK, Josef
The aims of this bachelor thesis are (i) to verify the generally recognized fact that supplementary feeding has an effect on the increase in phosphorus concentration in the surface water; and (ii) to explore a potential reduction of wastes by supplementary feeding with thermally treated cereals. The experiment was run in two consecutive growing seasons in the years 2012 and 2013. Four ponds were selected for this study. Cereals were applied as supplementary feed in three ponds: In two of them, thermally treated cereals were applied and in the other one, untreated cereal grains were applied. The efficiency of these feeds was compared with the results from the control pond, where fish stock was not supplementary fed. The results showed that bioturbation had a bigger effect on water quality than the input of nutrients from feeds, since water transparency parameters were statistically different (P < 0.05; in the control treatment compared to the ponds that were supplementary fed (higher value of turbidity and suspended solids, lower water transparency). No significant differences were observed in zoobenthos abundance, although the lowest density was in the control pond. However, no differences in zooplankton density between the control ponds and the supplementary fed ponds were found. On the other hand, differences in productive efficiency (SGR) of both types of feeds were found, which was highest in thermally treated ponds. The fact that the amount of phosphorus depends on the age of fish and bioavailability of phosphorus in feed was confirmed. Thermally treated cereals are economically inexpensive and the use of thermally treated cereals may provide a framework for the sustainable management of carp ponds, resulting in improved phosphorus budget over the entire pond system.
Vliv rozdílné techniky aplikace krmiva na produkci kapra obecného (Cyprinus carpio L.) v rybničních podmínkách
Weiser, Tibor
The aim of this work was to evaluate and compare the effect of the Carp - Feed feeding system with the feeding by standard way "by hand" at different densities of fish stock (2000 - 6000 pcs per ha) of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L). In the period of 24.4. -- 27.9. 2012 feeding tests in rearing of carp fry (mirror carp) in the ponds system in Milevsko were conducted. The feed mixture with the increased content of nitrogenous compounds at the level of more than 18% was used in the test. According to results, increasing of individual growth was found at 197 g (45%), resp. 52 g (25%) in the higher stocking density when using the Carp - Feed, which is caused by increased growth intensity by 6.1, resp. 2.2% in the relative daily growth and by 0.22%, resp. 0.044% per day in SGR. The production efficiency of food fluctuated in the range of 0.95 - 1.86 in FCR, 0.54 - 1.05 in FCE, 0.45 - 0.92 in FCR / SGR and 1.774 - 2.311% per day in specific growth rate SGR. The influence of feeding method and stock density on length and weight parameters, exterior and on chemical composition of muscle was statistically significant (P - 0.05). There was not proved any significant influence on fitness indicators. According to the observed results, it is suitable to use the Carp-Feed feeding system, but higher food consumption and lower individual weights at higher densities of fish stock have to be considered. That is why the aim of rearing should be set in advance. According to experiment, it is better to choose higher stock density (6000 pcs per ha) when using the Carp -- Feed for reaching the higher production in acceptable individual weight and for maximum yield. The literary review on feeding problems and possible modification of feed is also part of this thesis.
